Rental Information.
Hello, and thanks for renting! There are a few things we need to go over to get you ready.
Tesla App and Approved Drivers
Install the Tesla (lifestyle) app.
Set up an account.
Attach a photo of your driver's license to the Turo chat.
Attach a selfie holding your license in the Turo chat.
Roughly 30 min before the rental starts, I will send a Tesla invite via text to your phone.
Once the invite is accepted, the car will appear in the Tesla app, and your phone will work as the key.
Only drivers who are approved through Turo and have provided photo ID information as per above, will be set up in the Tesla app.
Airport Pickups
I will send you the stall number in the Turo chat. Once you have the Tesla invitation activated, you can also use the location section in the app to help locate the vehicle.
Battery Management
The max charge range is 10-90%. Going outside this range can damage the battery and incur a fine.
30-80% charge is recommended for daily driving.
Please return the vehicle at the end of your trip with 70-80% charge or there will be a low charge fee assessed.
Super Charger
Tesla has a network of chargers that are the fastest way to charge. A full charge will usually take around 30+ min. To find the closest location use the car's GPS and search for "supercharger" to find the closest location. Navigating to a super charger will preheat the battery for faster charging.
Charging for long distances
If you are traveling a long distance, use the car's navigation system for your route. The car will automatically assign charge stops and tell you how long to charge. The car will tell you when you have enough battery to continue your trip.
All fees at the super chargers connect to the car's account. At the end of your trip, I will send an invoice through Turo for reimbursement.
Portable Charger - Night Charging
Included with the car is a portable charger located in the trunk. Use the charger with a standard 110 outlet or 220 outlet. This charger can add about 5 miles of range per hour of charge time. Charging with a standard outlet is the most inexpensive way to charge, and is ideal for conserving the battery rather than getting a long-distance charge. Please plug the car in at night.
ChargePoint
There are also other charging networks, such as ChargePoint, that you can use with the Tesla charging adaptor that is in the car's frunk. Most of these chargers can add about 20-30 miles per hour. There are many of these chargers in and around Omaha. The ChargePoint app will give you a map of locations. It is not advised to rely solely on these chargers for your trip. I have found them to be unreliable at times.
Cold Weather
The car will use more battery charge in cold weather, even when parked. Again, it is crucial to plug the car in at night.

Thank you, and safe travels!
